Sailing

We sail every Sunday afternoon from April to October, launching from the beach at 1pm.  Sunday sailing sessions are now in full swing!

The 2nd Sunday of the month is normally peer race coaching and the 4th Sunday of the month is when we put it all in to practice with a race, all members are encouraged to join in.

If you’ve never sailed before you can learn with us, have a look at our sailing information page to see if there’s a course coming up.  You can also build experience by crewing for other members.

You can join online now or read on for a bit more information.

The club has a number of sailing dinghies available for members to use on Sunday afternoons and at other times when safety cover is provided:

  • 4 RS Feva
  • 7 Laser Pico
  • Laser
  • Topper Buzz
  • Hobie Cat

Club boats can be used by members with RYA Dinghy Level 2 or equivalent experience.

Storage is available for privately owned boats, contact us for more information.

We have 2 power boats which we use for safety cover and managing races:

  • 4 metre Zodiac Pro with 60hp outboard
  • Rigiflex with Tohatsu 20hp outboard

All members help to run the club in one way or another, you could:

  • Co-ordinate our safety team from the beach
  • Drive the safety boat
  • Crew the safety boat
  • Manage a sailing race
  • Help maintain club boats
  • Help maintain the tractor
  • Tidy and organise the yard
  • Help raise funds for more sailing

As well as all of the above, membership of PSKC gives you access to rowing and kayaking, too!

Don’t forget to join online or, if you have more questions, come and see us on a Sunday afternoon.
